Onyx is mined in India, Brazil, USA(California), Uruguay.

There are many different theories over the working of onyx depending on which part of the world you find yourself in – In times gone by the Europeans associated black onyx with physcic attacts and witchcraft and expectant mothers were not using the stone as they believed it promoted miscarriage but on the Indian subcontininent the opposite was believed true!
